Vast megacorporations now rule where superpowers once manipulated world events. Those who accept their protection; prosper: everyone else must struggle to survive. Moving through this world like whispers in the night are the shadowrunners: freelance operatives, sometime - mercenaries who combine unique skills and flawless teamwork to deliver the impossible on demand. Driven by unknown motivations to accomplish both noble and disreputable goals, runners obey a code of honor that only they can define. No one admits their existence, but no one else can do their secret work.
