Doc's
"Bottle Fed" Shelby
1965 Shelby Mustang GT350 (clone)
"RESTOMOD"
Here are some of Shelby's spec's!
As of 1/1/03
(go HERE for more current UPGRADES)
It has a rebuilt original 306 H. P., 289 HiPo bored .30 over V-8, 4 barrel Holley 600 c.f.m carb,
T-10 (HEK-AD-1) 4-speed transmission with Hurst shifter, Comp Cam FS268H, Edelbrock
RPM performer manifold, Mallory electronic ignition, Mallory coil, Mallory electric fuel pump, filter
and fuel pressure regulator. Eldelbrock high performance aluminum water pump attached
to a
powder coated timing chain cover. Hooker Competition Ceramic coated headers
with
"cut outs" welded into the front section of the attaching header pipe
for open exhaust, closed-course
racing.
(One inch Shelby front end drop)
It has a 7.5 quart aluminum Cobra oil pan. With original NOS Shelby Cobra aluminum valve covers.
The Interior has a roll bar and 3" racing seat belts. (New 5 point harnesses have been installed to replace
the old outdated lap belts.) The rear deck is strictly for the spare tire (no rear seat).
New interior and carpeting, sporting a beautiful wooden Shelby steering wheel displaying the well
known Shelby Snake emblem. Shelby CS tact and CS oil pressure gauge are mounted on the dash in a
special dash gauge pod. The original Ford AM radio (which was not working) will be replaced. I just
purchased a new Kenwood AM/FM Cassette 64 watt system, including the new front kick panels
with Pioneer speakers already installed in them for a little nicer sound system. The previous owner
had already installed a power antenna (but not working), which makes it more convenient for using a car
cover (without the antenna hole). It also has a Day / Night rear view mirror in it.
For suspension it has a heavy duty 1" front sway bar, lowered 1" tubular Global West A-arms,
urethan bushings throughout with shortened #620 front coil springs, to be controlled by a (new)16 to 1
quick ratio steering box by Flaming River. (See accompanying article I wrote on this if you like). The
Advanced Suspensions sub-frame connectors tie the front to the rear for frame rigidity. Of course it
also has the proper Monte Carlo bar to strengthen the front end and the proper export bar that was
installed on all Shelby GT350's for further frame strength. It's riding on 60 Series B.F. Goodrich T/A
radials (5) mounted on (5) American racing mag wheels, with KYB shocks all around. And it's all
stopped by Heavy duty-front 1970 disk brakes using a dual master cylinder and proportional valve.
The rear end is sprung by new 4 leaf heavy duty leaf springs and NEW under rider traction bars
(which have been recently installed) help put the power to the ground.
USED & NEW extra PARTS for SALE!
(some take-offs, leftovers & misc)
When I first saw my Shelby...as it was being offloaded from the
transport truck. Just arriving after it's trip from Tennessee.
(September 1st, 2002)
I bought it off of photos over the internet.
