Doc's Bike #7
1976 Harley Davidson Anniversary Series
FLH Shovel Head
Time had come to move UP in size. I traded the 1975 Mercedes for this Classic 1976 Anniversary
series Harley with a side-car (plus I got a bit of cash to boot!)
Keep in mind that I only weigh about 140-145 lbs. I felt like I was herding a boxcar. Oh it was loaded
with all the goodies and was considered a "REAL" motorcycle...but I hated it.... very soon after buying it.
The sidecar made it seem like I was pushing it around every corner. That didn't last long. OFF came the sidecar.
I tried my best to like that bike but after having spent as many miles in the saddle of a bike I could
really ride, this big TANK was a joke. It leaked, the battery never was UP when I wanted to ride. It
was clunky, hard shifting, didn't want to do anything I wanted it to do and all in all, we just didn't get
along.
It was soon HISTORY! Go HERE for my NEXT bike #8
