SEMM '09 reunion

Queridos companeros,
Take a good look at your calendars--you'll see that only 28 days from now, October 2nd, will be our great gathering
(Southeast Mexican Mission '09 reunion-Beecroft/Hatch/Romney). Firm up
your arrangements, vehicles in good order; plane, train, and bus tickets in
hand and sleeping quarters confirmed. We'll take care of the rest.
Location:
We've arranged delicious food by one of our own companions, terrific
Mexican entertainment and a few words about Veracruz today by one of our
early companions now living there.
If you thought that '07 was a good gathering and that '08 was a great
gathering, then brace yourself because the '09 reunion will be fabulosa
because your presence will make it so. We're looking for 80 or
better!
We've provided a place indoors (out of the October Conference Rain), we
need YOU to provide yourselves, your
stories and experiences (funny and spiritual), your reminiscences and the giant
spirit/soul that you have become in the last 45 years.
We'll have tables for
you to show your "Faros", any
and/or all of your special souvenirs, old and new pictures, books
& magazine articles you've created since then, and bring ideas
for planning future annual events. Come with a great smile as we will be
taking pictures including a group picture.
If there is some one you especially want to see and to visit with--FIND him/her and pass the word far and wide.
Attached is the most current list of names and contact data we have; Find more, Please! E-mail,
call or write us with more information. Obviously the list is incomplete
(and there are some errors)--look for names in your "Faros" before
October '63 and after September '65 let us know new data and begin making
contacts of your own. If there is incorrect information which you can
correct please let us know now.
Several of you have asked what has happened to the updates we started to
assemble last year--we still have them and when we get more we'll
print them or put them on CD for all of us. Attached is a form
for you to briefly update your past 40 plus years of to update the
information from last year. If you wish to use a different update format,
by all means please do so. Just let us all know about your world.
Please advise
(by e-mail or call) us that you will be here so we can make plans for quantity
of chairs, tables and Food.
As in the past we request and recommend that you bring $15/person (or
more) (this is a small increase over prior notice) to offset the cost of food,
entertainment, etc. Where else can you have such great conversation,
reminiscing, food, entertainment, friendship, interesting displays etc.
for such a small price--a bargain at twice the price. Any unexpended
funds will be contributed to the Church's Perpetual Education Fund or the
General Missionary Fund (for the benefit of southeast Mexican missions.
If you have two or more reunions to attend, Attend this one first then see if there is time for the other(s).
So looking forward to hearing from and seeing ALL of you very soon.
