Parra Lore

(There is at least a glimmer of truth in every story.)

It has been said of President Parra.

I really don't remember President Parra very well. I finished my mission in Ticul, Yucatan, which was about as far away from Veracruz as you could get. I think I met him once before I left the mission. The only thing I remember is that his father or grandfather was the person in the movie "And Should We Die", who was killed during the Mexican Revolution. Pres. Parra still ran the family store before he and Sis. Parra went on their mission. They had two small children.
He was a very dynamic man and an excellent speaker at conference, compared to Pres. Boren, who spoke rather softly in front of people,
I remember Pres. Parra came to a conference in Merida and gave a referral to one of the Elders in Merida. He had obtained the referral of a waitress who had waited on them in a restaurant that morning. His point was, always ask the Golden Questions.
