Carl J. Beecroft

Carl J. Beecroft passed away at the age of 96, on December 15, 2007 in Mesa, AZ. He was born October 5, 1911 in Colonia Garcia, Mexico to Robert Chestnut Beecroft and Nancy Edna Buchanan. He married the love of his life, Helen May Taylor on December 26, 1933. He and Helen May had 3 children, Carl Jr. (deceased), Mona and Katie. They also had a foster son, Patrick. Carl lived a full and rich life with many adventures and service to others. He spent most of his youth in Mexico teaching school, working for various mining companies and raising his family. He had a special love for the Hispanic culture. He was a member of the LDS church which was a very important part of his life. He was called to many positions in the church, including president of the South East Mexican Mission from 1963-1964 and of the Chilean mission from 1965-1966. His heart was filled with love for the missionaries that served under him. He is survived by his two daughters, Marilyn (Roger), Katie (Dennis) and their foster son Patrick; his brother Douglas Beecroft (Pat). Also surviving are 14 grandchildren, 51 great-grandchildren, 16 great-great grandchildren. Preceded in death by his wife Helen May; his son Carl Jr.; daughter in-law Rita; grandchildren Carla and Scottie Beecroft; parents; and 9 siblings. Many thanks to those who took special care of Carl over the past year:Traci and Jamie Willis who took "Beeky" into their home; Mona and Roger who were always on standby; Lisa Jackson and Rita Beecroft that visited him regularly; and the great support from Odyssey Health Care (Hospice). Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 22, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at the Chandler Heights Ward house in Queen Creek, AZ, 18550 E. Riggs Rd.
