Articles on Guns & Freedom

Articles, links and tidbits. These are a sampling of writings and thoughts I've read that expand upon and complement my philosophy on Freedom. I hope they make you think.

Will always be under construction!

Here are some examples of "sig files" that I've seen. A sig file (signature file) is a short piece of text that's automatically added to the end of a person's e-mail messages. Most mail programs will perform this function, and the content is controlled by the sender. I find these examples to be in line with the purpose for which this page was created.

The sigs are not necessarily the original work of the person whose name is listed as a "by" line. Some are, some aren't. These persons are the ones who made the quote available to me and gave me permission to post them here, be they original, or restatements of someone else's thoughts.

This one shows the illogic and absurdity of the Left.

"If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude
better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace.
We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which
feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget
that ye were our countrymen."

Samuel Adams, speech at the Philadelphia State House, August 1, 1776

"I wish we could (in today's world) find people like George
Washington, Thomas Jefferson, Richard Henry Lee, Patrick Henry and
George Mason. Unfortunately, time and too much soft living seem to have
washed the starch out of our patriotism. We stand for nothing while
falling for anything."

Derald Yancey

"It would be strange to find in a catalog of the 'rights of
individuals' a provision securing 'to the states' the right to
maintain a designated `Militia'. Dispassionate scholarship suggests
quite strongly that the right of the people to keep and bear arms
meant just that. There is no need to deceive ourselves as to what the
original Second Amendment said and meant."

Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia

Dan Finn
