ROBERT L. SKAGGS DIES IN ROCKFORD--Was Former Resident of Mason City.--
Mason City, Jan. 15--Robert Lee Skaggs, 77, former resident of Mason Cit y, died Wednesday at the Swedish-American hospital in Rockford. The body w ill arrive in Mason City at 4 p.m. Friday and will be taken to the Henders on-Jennings funeral home where friends may call. Funeral services wi ll be held at 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, Rev. Ross K. Hellye r, of the Christian church, officiating. Burial will be in Mason City ceme tery. A native of Hodgenville, Ky., Mr. Skaggs was born Sept. 26, 187 0, a son of James and Cynthia Skaggs. In 1892 he married Mary Belle Aki ns in Hodgenville and they came to Mason county in 1906. Since the dea th of his wife in 1932, Mr. Skaggs has made his home with his childre n. He was a member of the Mason City Christian church. Surviving are thr ee sons, Homer, Petersburg; Moses, Rockford; Fred, Pekin; two daughters, M rs. Ella Jones and Mrs. Nora Reeder, both of Rockford; a sister, Mrs. Flor ence DeSpain, Springfield, and three brothers, Edward, Frank and Willia m, all of Greene county, Kentucky, 13 grandchildren and two great-grandchi ldren.

ALLEN, GOLDIE O., 90, of Louisville, died Saturday, February 25, 200 6, at the home of her niece. She was the former Goldie O. Warren, a memb er of AARP and the German American Club. She was preceded in death by h er husband, Donald W. Allen; and her son, James David Allen. She is surviv ed by one daughter, Jean Peters; three grandsons, Clarence Albert and Jam es Anthony Peters and Jason Allen Robey; one granddaughter, April Miche le Casey; one great-grandson, Justin Casey; and a large number of niece s, nephews and friends, including her niece, Darlene Murphy and Darlene 's companion, Daniel Meredith, who both cared for her. Her funeral servi ce will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Bosse Funeral Home, Barret and Ellis on Aves., with burial in Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be from 1-8 p. m. Monday. Beatrice Skaggs Allen Kessler, 97, of Buffalo, passed away Dec. 4, 200 5, at Hardin Memorial Hospital.
A native of LaRue County, she was a member of Mt. Tabor Baptist Church, me mber of Womens Missionary Union, secretary and treasurer, past member of B uffalo Chapter of Eastern Star, and a retired school teacher with 23 yea rs of service.
She was preceded in death by her husbands; James Howard Allen and Colby Ke ssler; a son, Jesse Lee Allen; her parents, Henry Blain and Viola Star Fer rill Skaggs; a brother, Joel Henry Skaggs; and a sister, Ruby Inez Merhoff .
She is survived by a sister, Thelma Chelf of Elizabethtown; a daughter-in- law, Earnestine Allen of Buffalo, sister-in-law, Lucy Skaggs of Buffalo; t wo grandchildren, Stephon Allen and Debbie of Clarksville, Tenn.; Melin da Allen Skaggs and Larry of Memphis, Tenn.; three stepchildren, Donald a nd Becky Kessler of Franklin, Harry and Brenda Kessler of Greensburg and M arylin Kessler Pruitt of Greensburg; four great-grandchildren; eight step- grandchildren; and twelve step-great-grandchildren.
The funeral will be held Dec. 7, at 2 p.m. at Billy Howell Funeral Chap el in Hodgenville with the Rev. Roger Pepper officiating. Burial will foll ow in Mt. Tabor Church Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 5-9 p.m. Dec. 6, and Dec. 7, at 9 a.m. at the fune ral home until time of service.
Expressions of sympathy may take the form of donations to the Mt. Tabor Bu ilding Fund.

Mattie Scott, 84, of Route 1, Buffalo, daughter of the late Will Henry War ren and Mary Allen Warren, died at 2:50 p.m., Friday, May 3, 1985 at her h ome. She was a member of the Poplar Grove United Methodist Church. She uni ted in marriage to Emmett Scott Sr. February 4, 1920. To this union sev en daughters and two sons were born: James Ray Scott preceded his moth er in death Sept. 3, 1967 and Emmett Brooks Scott Jr. preceded his moth er in death Oct. 2, 1942. Surviving are: Etha Mae Skaggs of Hodgenville; D orothy Jean Sutter of Bloomington, Illinois; Mary Caulk of Campbellsvill e, Star Route; Mattie Long of Route 1, Buffalo; Essie Allen of Fishervill e; Juanita Pike and Betty Skaggs both of Louisville. Besides her husban d, Emmett Scott Sr. of Route 1, Buffalo and daughters, she is surviv ed by 16 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; three brothers and one sis ter: Ida Scott of Bartonville, Illinois; Bee Warren of Campbellsville, St ar Route; Joe Warren and Lenzie Warren, both of Peoria, Illinois; sever al nieces and nephews and many other relatives and friends. Funeral servi ce was held at 2 p.m., Monday, May 6, at the Poplar Grove United Methodi st Church in Taylor County by Dr. Rual T. Perkins and the Rev. Elbert Hadl ey. Burial was in Poplar Grove United Methodist Church Cemetery. Pallbeare rs were: Ronald Sutter, Bobby Caulk, Glen Caulk, Greg Pike, Gary Pike, a nd Thomas Clark. Parrott & Ramsey Funeral Home in Campbellsville was in ch arge of arrangements.
