He preceded her in death May 14, 19 59. To this union six daughters and four sons were born. Two sons preced ed their mother in death: Mr. Everett Underwood died September 22, 1967, a nd Mr. Robert Underwood died January 29, 1971. Surviving are Mrs. Aile en Beams of Campbellsville, Route 3, Mrs. Verna Fraze, Mrs. Mauda DeSpai n, and Mr. Russell Underwood, all of Buffalo, Route 1, Mrs. Estelle Pepp er of Greensburg, Route 3, Mrs. Mattie Cash and Mr. Grant Underwood, bo th of Louisville, and Mrs. Gladys Gaddie of Indianapolis, Indiana. Besid es her children, she is survived by 35 grandchildren; 39 great-grandchildr en; and 6 great-great-grandchildren. Funeral services were conduct ed at 2 p.m., Tuesday, January 24, at the Otter Creek Separate Baptist Chu rch in Larue County by Rev. Garlen Skaggs and Rev. Verlon Davenport. Buri al was in the church cemetery. Pallbearers were Carl Underwood, Roger DeS pain, Wendell Cash, Tony DeSpain, Charles Beams, and Douglas Underwood.

Mauda Underwood DeSpain, 66, Crescent Hill Manor, Campbellsville, daught er of the late A. T. and Gertrude Bloyd Underwood, was born in Larue Coun ty April 3, 1921. She died at 4:11 a.m. Sunday, Nov. 15, 1987, at the Tay lor County Hospital after an extended illness. She was a member of the Ot ter Creek Separate Baptist Church. She is survived by two sons, Tony DeSp ain, Campbellsville, and Gwen DeSpain, Lavergne, Tenn. One son preceded h er in death in infancy, Roy Vaughn DeSpain. She is also survived by a gra ndson and a granddaughter, Justin DeSpain, Georgia, and Joanna DeSpain, Ca mpbellsville; one step-grandson, Brandon Dishman, Campbellsville; two brot hers and four sisters, Russell Underwood, Buffalo, Grant Underwood, Louisv ille, Aileen Beams and Mattie Cash, both of Campbellsville, Gladys Gaddi e, Indianapolis, and Estelle Pepper, Greensburg; several nieces and nephe ws and many other relatives and friends.
